About Open Measures:

Open Measures is the leading open source social media intelligence platform. We exist to help researchers analyze and monitor the spread of information on unmoderated corners of the internet. We democratize tools to identify online extremism and defend against offline harm. 

We are looking for a skilled researcher to join our team on a contract basis to write for our blog which can be reviewed here. This role is paid per post, and the successful candidate will be responsible for creating insightful and engaging content focused on social media intelligence, extremism, and disinformation. Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis:

• Conduct in-depth research on emerging threats, malicious state actors, and disinformation campaigns.
• Stay up to date on the latest OSINT trends, threat landscapes, and geopolitical developments.

Content Creation:

• Develop high-quality, well-researched, and engaging posts on emergent trends of disinformation and online extremism.
• Translate technical information into easily understandable content for a diverse audience.
• Craft compelling reports that educate, inform, and resonate with OSINT researchers.

Technical Proficiency:

• Demonstrate an understanding of OSINT concepts, threat analysis, and disinformation tactics.
• Ability to interpret technical data and present it in a clear and accessible manner.

Editing and Proofreading:

• Ensure all content is grammatically correct, well-structured, and formatted correctly.
• You can expect to collaborate with at least one editor to further refine content but submitted content should be foundationally sound and generally ready for publication at the time of submission.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Threat Intelligence Analyst, OSINT Researcher, or similar role.
• Strong writing portfolio showcasing expertise in threat intelligence and disinformation topics.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Proficiency in Russian, Ukrainian, Mandarin, Spanish, French, Hebrew, or Arabic is a plus.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices is a plus.
• Experience with Substack or WordPress is a plus.

Contract Terms:

• $250 per post (500-1,000 words per post)
• $500 per collaborative post dealing with external partners or in excess of 1,000 words and agreed to with the editing team before work begins 
• Contract duration: 3 months with potential to renew if mutually agreed upon
